Work experience/volunteering

 

Who? The School is actively seeking parents (current and former) and OLs to offer work experience within their work place.

What? Ideally we would be seeking one day or more of work experience in traditional professions known to be popular among pupils eg Medicine, Law, Accountancy and Teaching, as well as other more contemporary roles and industries e.g. game design, Formula 1 racing

When? To be out of the School’s term time and at a time convenient with the participating employer

Where? In the employers place of work

Opportunities for OLs

1. Erste Bank, London

Are you at University or a recent graduate and thinking about your career options?  Are you interested in banking and its related services?

St Lawrence College alumnus, David Vant, is an Executive Director at the London Branch of Erste Group Bank AG.  As the Branch is located in the heart of City, David is keen for St Lawrence College alumni to apply and be considered for work experience.  Opportunities could range from short introductory or familiarisation days at the London Branch to a specific project-focussed work experience opportunity.  Both opportunities would be scheduled during the summer months. 

Erste Group Bank was founded in Vienna in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank and is one of the largest providers of financial services in Central and Eastern Europe.  It has over 47,000 employees serving over 16.1 million clients.

2. Titan Historic Racing team

If you are considering a career in engineering and Formula 1 racing in particular, you may want to consider a work experience opportunity at Titan Historic Racing.

Titan is an Historic Formula 1 team that races a number of iconic cars. These range from a Colin Chapman designed Lotus 77 from 1977 which was driven by Nigel Mansell to a Titan Mk3/4 from 1967.  Lord Gregory Thornton (known more frequently as Greg) is the team Founder, Principal and main driver and is supported by a dedicated team of mechanics and engineers. http://www.titanhistoricracing.co.uk/
